How much the Referendum in the RS will cost the Citizens?

RS Referendum Veto Rejected faktor.baThe implementation of the referendum in the RS on the 9th of January as the Day of the RS, which authorities announced for the 25th of September, should cost about 3 million BAM.

“Estimates on how much money should be allocated from the budget of the RS to pay for these activities was made in the proposal of the referendum,” said the President of the National Assembly of RS, Nedeljko Cubrilovic.

He claims that the preparations for the referendum in the RS are in “advanced stage”.

“It is important that all legal procedures are fulfilled and that there are no further obstacles to hold it,” stated Cubrilovic.

He also said that the Referendum in the RS is “constitutional and legitimate and as such it does not represent an issue to anyone.”

He admits that it can be discussed whether they should hold a referendum or to address this issue in another way, but he claims that the referendum is legal.

The Constitutional Court of BiH decided that according to the provisions of the Law on Holidays of RS, related to the 9th of January as the Day of RS, it is unconstitutional.

Deputies from the parties that are based in the RS, made a decision to hold the referendum in that BiH entity on the 25th of September, while at the same time recently, from the entity Parliament, requested from the Constitutional Court of BiH to review a prior decision on the unconstitutionality of the 9th of January as the Day of RS.
