The Minister of Culture and Education of the RS Goran Mutabdžija will meet today with the attorney of the Bosniak families from Konjević Polje, Nedim Ademović.
The meeting started at 9:30 at the the Minister’s facility at the Government of RS in Banja Luka and after the meeting, press statements are planned.
School children from Konjević Polje have not been attending classes since 2 September because the Ministry of Education of RS did not fulfill the parent’s requirements to provide education to children under the program of national subjects and to adequately address the issue of the ethnic composition of the school board.
Bosniak Parents from Konjević Polje for 37 days already have been sleeping in tents in front of OHR, while the children have been sleeping in Nedžarići. The attorney of the Bosniak families from Konjević Polje Nedim Ademović denied the earlier statement of the Minister of Education and Culture of RS Goran Mutabdžija that parents from Konjević Polje rejected the solution proposed by the Minister.
Ademović recalled that at the press conference on 8 November, the representative of the parents from Konjević Polje, Muhizin Omerović, publicly expressed the readiness for talks and discussion with all the relevant authorities in regard to any type of agreement in accordance with the constitution and laws that would contribute to solving the problem.
He underlined that neither the Ministry of Education and Culture of RS, nor the international community contacted directly or indirectly the legal representative or parents that are demonstrating.
