High Representative to B&H Valentin Inzko said that the consideration of options for directing B&H towards the EU would help reach the goals after the war, in the sense of stability, rebuilding the country and reconciliation among its peoples, and to preserve it, conveyed by Agency Anadolija.
‘’Unfortunately, since my last appearance before the UN Security Council in May, and in the moment when less than one year remained since the general elections, the situation in the country did not change: political leaders still have not shown a strong commitment in carrying out the basic political and economic reforms that are necessary for the country to progress, and they have neither seriously tried to make a step towards Euro-Atlantic integration’’, said Inzko.
However, he noted that the chances in the next 12 months, the amount of time remaining until the elections in B&H, still exist. The options are open ‘’and politicians could still make up for lost time’’, he concluded.
‘’The region is moving forward, as you know. Croatia has become a EU member. Serbia will soon become a candidate. Montenegro has already closed three chapter with the EU-only B&H remains. In fact, the formula (for success) is simple: do the same as Montenegro. Do what Serbia is doing’’, said High Representative Inzko in an interview with Anadolija Agency.
High Representative Inzko submitted a full report to the UN Security Council on Tuesday in which he said that B&H lags behind its neighbors in Euro-Atlantic integration, and warned that the RS entity functions better than the FB&H, and he expressed concern over the statements of RS officials that advocate the collapse of B&H.
