The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska (RSRS) continued its regular session today with a discussion on the Draft Law on the production of weapons and military equipment in the Republika Srpska.

The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republika Srpska, Vojin Mitrović, said that the goal of the Draft Law on the production of weapons and military equipment is the improvement and development of this production as an activity of strategic interest.

“The area of the production of weapons and military equipment has not been normatively regulated in the Republika Srpska, so this law establishes a comprehensive and high-quality legal framework for the first time, and the production of weapons and military equipment will be regulated as an activity of strategic interest,” Mitrović said in NSRS explaining this law.

He pointed out that this is a specific type of production.

“The law prescribes the conditions for obtaining consent for the production of weapons and military equipment, rights and obligations of producers, safety and protection measures in the production of weapons and military equipment, supervision of companies operating in the field of production of weapons and military equipment, as well as other issues of importance for this area,” Mitrović added.

Deputies will today consider the Draft Law on Immunity, which stipulates that the highest holders of executive power in the Republika Srpska are not criminally or civilly responsible for any procedure carried out within the scope of their duties and thus protect themselves, as well as the holders of legislative and judicial power.

In the explanation of this act, it is stated that the reason for the adoption of the draft law is the fact that “the existing legal solution, which was imposed on October 6, 2002 by the then high representative, leaves the possibility of conducting criminal proceedings against the highest holders of the executive power, which affects the independence and the functioning of the executive power”.

The National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska will also consider the Draft Law on Electronic Money.

Deputies will consider the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Agricultural Cooperatives and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Compulsory Traffic Insurance.
