NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs Bisera Turković and Minister of Defence Sifet Podžić at NATO Headquarters on 10 March 2020 to discuss cooperation between NATO and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The NATO Secretary-General said that the Alliance looks forward to continue supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina in its reform efforts, on the basis of the Reform Programme submitted to NATO in December 2019.

The Secretary-General stressed that NATO remains committed to political dialogue and cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that the Alliance will continue supporting the implementation of the Reform Programme, for the benefit of all citizens in the country.

Mr. Stoltenberg also thanked Minister Turković and Minister Podžić for the contribution to the Alliance’s Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, which demonstrates that the country is a contributor to international security.

He recalled that he had met troops from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Afghanistan, and commended their professionalism.  Mr. Stoltenberg stressed that NATO will continue to consult closely with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Alliance’s other operational partners on the Resolute Support Mission.
