Negative Trend: More Deaths recorded in BiH than Babies born

In the first six months of this year, fewer babies were born in Bosnia and Herzegovina than in the same period last year, and more deaths are recorded. At the same time, there are fewer marriages and more divorces.

The Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that 12,762 live births were registered in that period, which is a decrease of 2.17 percent compared to the same period last year. 19,428 people died, showing an increase of 4.23 percent.

In the first six months, 7,551 marriages were concluded in BiH, down 6.52 percent compared to the same period last year, while 1,140 marriages were divorced, 5.36 percent more than in the first half of last year.
