Israel will strive to ensure freedom of religious worship for Muslims at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the Temple Mount during Ramadan, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of a session on preparations for the holy Muslim month, which will begin on March 10th or 11th.

“Israel’s policy has always been and will always be to maintain freedom of worship for all religions. Of course, we have always behaved this way during the Ramadan, and we will behave the same way now,” he said.

“We will do everything to preserve freedom of worship on the Temple Mount, while properly addressing security needs, and we will enable the Muslim public to celebrate the holiday,” Netanyahu added.

According to Israeli media, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Foreign Minister Israel Katz, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Minister of the War Cabinet Gadi Eisenkot were among those present at the session.

Furthermore, Netanyahu’s office had earlier announced that it would impose some access restrictions due to “security needs,” which raised concerns, N1 reports.
