The Netherlands will arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he comes to the country, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced.

“The Netherlands respects the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. If he sets foot on Dutch soil, he will be arrested,” Veldkamp told parliament, public broadcaster NOS reported.

The same applies to former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Hamas senior executive Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, for whom the ICC also issued arrest warrants, Veldkamp added.

He also stressed that the Netherlands will cut off all non-essential contacts with the Israeli government, whose top officials are accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

“The Netherlands is 100 percent implementing the Rome Statute, which regulates the establishment of the ICC, based in The Hague, and the way its judgments are handled,” Veldkamp said, AA writes.
