The meeting of the newly formed City Council of Sarajevo will most probably be held in January 2013, because the constituting session of other municipalities in Sarajevo will be scheduled for this and the next week. The representative of the City Council, Željko Ler said that the newly formed City Council will be revealed by January 2013. This meeting and the announcement of the new members of the City Council of Sarajevo will precede the election of the new Mayor of the City of Sarajevo.
The City Council consists of 28 aldermen, where each Municipality Council chooses seven delegates for the members of the City Council.
The municipalities have a deadline of 30 days till the constituent sessions for the election of the delegates that will present them in the City Council of Sarajevo. After the admission of the new delegates, the City Council will proceed with the election of the new Mayor of the City of Sarajevo.
