In the official premises of the Bjelave Volunteer Fire Dpartment (Bjelave 44 Street), the mayor of Centar municipality Devad Bećirević and commander of the Bjelave VFD Sulejman Vranac signed the contract on granting the use of firefighting equipment provided by the Centar municipality for the needs of the Service for Protection of Fire operating within this fire department.
‘Centar municipality has been helping to equip the VFD Bjelave for many years. Consequently, that fire department is now one of the best equipped fire departments in B&H. Previously, we have obtained new vehicles for their purposes. This year we provided almost 55 000 BAM for the purchase of new equipment which is largely intended for the rescue during floods. In the following period, this fire department is to train its members to use the new equipment for rescue of not only the residents of the Centar municipality, but to assist in other areas as well’, said mayor Bećirević.
Sulejman Vranac sent a word of gratitude to the mayor Bećirević and Civil Protection Service of the Centar municipality for all the previous donations, including today’s one as well.
‘This exceptionally valuable donation is to serve not only the residents of the Centar municipality, but also the entire population of Canton Sarajevo. We are hoping to continue the cooperation with the Centar municipality, and we grant to justify the purchase of this firefighting equipment with our work and dedication’, said Vranac.
Members of the Bjelave VFD received following firefighting equipment: engine-powered rubber boat and accompanying equipment, power generator, water pump, automatic nozzle, rubberized fire hoses (15 pieces), backpack fire extinguishers (10 pieces), 2 safety lamps, 15 pairs of protective footwear, mini breathing apparatus for breathing in smoky environments, set for the administration of oxygen, tripod with ropes for rescue, set of airbags for weight lifting, composite air cylinder, apparatus for starting a car, 12 sets of uniforms, and 12 pairs of rescue and safety boots.
Vahid Bećirević, Assistant Chief for Civil Protection of Centar municipality, the service that conducted the procedure of public procurement, was also present during the transfer of the equipment.
