measuresThe Government of FBiH has adopted the Information on the implementation of emergency measures in extreme temperatures at the meeting in Sarajevo and supported their implementation in health care facilities throughout the FBiH.

These measures include that the working time at the level of primary care and specialist-consultative services starts at 7 am, that the priority for the realization of health care services is given to chronically ill persons, young children, pregnant women and people older than 65 years and that parents who bring their children to vaccination against infectious diseases, do that not later than 9 am.

Employers are recommended to shift the beginning of work time at 6 am for workers who are working at the open. If nature of the work does not allow it, they should consider the possibility of stopping the works from 12 pm to 4 pm and resume it after 4 pm. It is recommended that employers enable workers that are chronically ill to use their holiday leave in this period.

Municipalities should ensure free distribution of drinking water from the tanks at certain locations, and in case of long retention time at border crossings, the division of water and other beverages should be ensured.

Citizens should be continuously informed about general measures for protection against high temperatures, to be advised to stay in cooler and air-conditioned rooms, but that the difference in temperature between the room and outdoor space is not higher than 3-5 °C.
