Nova Željezara Zenica (NŽZ) again today sent an offer to the Prime Minister of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, and the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, Vedran Lakić, to lease the entire NŽZ.
“Given that the President of the Government of the Federation of BiH and the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić continuously publicly emphasize that they want to preserve jobs and restart integral steel production in Zenica, we would like to confirm clearly that the NŽZ will not stand in the way of the realization of such a project. On the contrary, for the second time we are offering the Government of the Federation of BiH a complete NŽZ, with the entire infrastructure for rent for 0.00 BAM”, they stated in the offer.
For the avoidance of doubt, as they emphasized, this offer includes the lease of the complete factory and the complete infrastructure related to the integral production of steel since, as they further state, during the previous offer it was stated as the reason for its non-acceptance that it did not include all the infrastructure capacities necessary for integral production.
As they add, the lease is given “exclusively for the purpose of carrying out integral steel production and lasts as long as the integral production lasts, on the condition that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through a related company, takes over all the workers of NŽZ and organizes integral steel production at its own expense”.
According to the NŽZ, an additional condition of the lease is that all jobs be kept.
As a reminder, the Municipal Court in Zenica yesterday published a decision rejecting the proposal of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to open the procedure of extraordinary administration and to appoint Sena Šaranović as extraordinary administrator.
