The new system of vehicle identification with a potential to replace the existing stickers was presented in Sarajevo yesterday.
“With this sticker, the vehicles can be clearly and doubtlessly identified when being bought, sold, technically examined or controlled in any other way, regardless of whether someone has changed the number of chassis or the motor,” it was highlighted at yesterday’s presentation organized by the company MIBO Communications Ltd. in Sarajevo.
They stated that inside the stickers (the so-called tags) these chips have a transponder and a memory in which the ID number of the vehicle is stored
“By reading this number, the vehicle can be searched for in the central database under the same ID number and all details on the vehicle in question can be checked (e.g. the chassis number, the number of engine, other detailed data about the vehicle, dates of previous technical examinations, info about the owner, valid vehicle insurance, etc.), explained Miro Markić, associate of MIBO Communications on the project, adding that in an attempt of removal the sticker gets irreversibly damaged. Therefore, it is almost impossible to hide the identification of the vehicle with that particular sticker.
Markić explained that such stickers are necessary for the security in traffic.
“National security of road traffic is very important, and one of the key elements is the safety of vehicles. Irregular vehicles jeopardize the safety in traffic and represent a problem for the state and people who cannot charge the damage. Police controls are rare, irregularities are being discovered only in the case of emergency. Technical examinations are being conducted in different periods for different vehicles,” Markić said.
