trafficThe Assembly of Canton Sarajevo reached a conclusion on the adoption of the Draft law on the regulation of traffic in Canton Sarajevo at yesterday’s regular session.

The adoption of the Draft law on the regulation of traffic will be going to a public debate, and some of the most interesting details in the new law are application of the vignette and the rules to park in the territory of Canton Sarajevo.

According to Article 94 of the Draft law on the regulation of traffic, the existence of the zone of the city center is predicted, in which the traffic of motor vehicles will be allowed only with the payment of special fees, or vignettes.

Zone of the city core will be declared in order to increase security, reduce gas emissions, solutions to the problem of parking and reduce traffic jams. The exception would be the public transport vehicles, vehicles with escorts and vehicles with priority passing.

The money raised through the sale of vignettes will be used to improve traffic safety and environmental protection.

According to Article 86 of the Draft law on the regulation of traffic, a ban on parking of damaged or unregistered vehicles is provided, and in the case of violations of the law, they will be removed within 30 days.
