After today’s address by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at the Hall of Armed Forces in Sarajevo, the newly elected member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović met with the highest EU official, who was visiting our country.
At the meeting with Bećirović, the president of the European Commission gave her full support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying that Bosnia and Herzegovina politicians in the period until the session of the Council of the European Union in December must show effort and efforts to fulfill the conditions in the recommendation of the European Commission, that is, they must show that the obstacles that existed are beginning to be overcome.
Bećirović thanked Von der Leyen for her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina and for her speech today in support of our country.
He emphasized that the key part of his program refers to the fulfillment of the conditions for full membership in the EU, as well as the intensification of the Euro-Atlantic path.
Bećirović said that Bosnia and Herzegovina and its officials, instead of populism and nationalist rhetoric, must turn to solving the basic problems of people’s lives and improving living conditions as a whole.
He said that all political actors should work on creating a better political, security and economic environment.
Bećitović also emphasized that it is necessary to form a government in Bosnia and Herzegovina within a reasonable period of time, and that it is imperative for our country to be oriented towards the Euro-Atlantic path.
