Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that no one will stop his country in the war launched in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the October 7 attack by the Hamas movement.
“No one will stop us, not The Hague, not the axis of evil, not anyone else,” Netanyahu told reporters in Tel Aviv, alluding to South Africa’s accusation before the International Court of Justice that Israel committed genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Halevi, said today that Israel is waging a “just” war in the Gaza Strip against Hamas in order, he said, to defend its right to live in safety.
Halevi assessed that “the war will continue for a long time.”
“It is important to remember that we are fighting a war more just than any other war. It is a war started by a bloodthirsty enemy, who massacred innocent people in an inhumane way. We do not forget, we will not forget and we will continue to remind, even those who try to deny it “, added Halevi.
Israel launched air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7.
Since October 7, 23,843 Palestinians have been killed and 60,317 injured in the Israeli army’s attacks on Gaza.
Israeli authorities claim that around 1,200 Israelis were killed in Hamas attacks.
Israeli strikes have left Gaza in ruins, with 60 percent of its infrastructure damaged or destroyed. About two million inhabitants have been displaced by the attack, with acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
