Noticeable Increase in the Volume of foreign Trade Exchange

Vice President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ahmet Egrlić, said that for nine months of this year, the metal industry, with a volume of 13.8 billion BAM, accounts for about 39 percent of the total foreign trade exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which in that period amounts to about 35.4 billion BAM.

“There is a noticeable increase in the volume of foreign trade exchange this year by about 3.7 billion BAM compared to last year,” stated Egrlić at the end of last week at the session of the Assembly of the Association of Metal and Electrical Industry (AMEI) of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (FTC BiH).

Egrlić reminded that this year the Chamber also organized the first joint performance of BiH companies from the metal industry at the prestigious “Elmia Subcontractor” fair in Sweden, and expressed hope that business meetings that they held then will result in new business contracts and even better export results.

It was also pointed out that BiH companies in the metal and electrical industry have significant potential and export results, but that it is necessary to improve the legal framework as soon as possible, especially in terms of harmonizing entity laws on renewable energy sources, which will facilitate business for companies.

At the session, new members of the AMEI Committee were elected and planning and program acts were considered, Fena reports.
