The Number of new Cars imported to BiH doubled

In the last year, the number of new cars imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina was nearly doubled. According to the information from the Administration for Indirect Taxes, a total of 67,834 cars were imported in 2016, of which 10,961 were new and 56,873 used. In 2015, 65,121 cars were imported, of which 5,672 were new and 59,449 used.

The total value of the imported cars in 2015 was 538 million BAM, while in 2016, it was more than 200 million BAM more at 759 million BAM.

The same trend continued in the first six months of this year – an increase in the number of imported cars, whlie the number of imported used cars decreased. If this trend continued, BiH will import more than a billion BAM of cars by the end of the year.

In the first six months, the most expensive car since the end of the war was imported – an armored Mercedes-Benz S 600, worth 750,000 BAM, which was imported by the Turkish Embassy.

The most expensive car among the domestic buyers was imported by Faruk Telibecirevic. He imported a Tesla Motors Model S, which costs 294,000 BAM and the tax on it is 67,000 BAM, according to Sobodna Bosna.

According to Capital, one of the most expensive cars imported into BiH this year was Mercedes S500 4MATIC Maybach, which costs 282,000 BAM, with another 48,000 BAM in taxes.

Among the most expensive cars imported was a Porshe Panamera T, worth 242,000 BAM, plus 41,000 BAM in taxes.
