13183217_1175758052475149_1871527900_nThe International Consortium of Investigative Journalists last night released part of Panama documents containing 200,000 names of individuals and companies, including some people from BiH. Mentioned people from BiH are Edin Smajic, Nedim Uzunovic, the current director of Bosnalijek and Amel Kovacevic, the former ambassador of BiH in China.

On the list is also Edin Zekovic, the former football player from BiH who played in Germany, who appeared as an intermediary for the company Z.E.T.A. Las Americas Inc.

Among the addresses from BiH was also mentioned city of Mostar, however the street nor the company in question was not defined.

They joined the list on which was earlier found company “Alumina” from Zvornik and Vid Jaksic from Zvornik.

However, it should be mentioned that this is not the final list for BiH, but the result of the initial investigation, while the other names will be released after a more detailed investigation. The list includes the names of some shareholders, but internal documents and emails were not revealed.

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) came to more than 11 million documents regarding the transactions in and out of offshore companies that were carried out in the last 40 years. The documents mentioned 12 current and former world leaders, 128 politicians and public officials, billionaires, celebrities, sports stars etc. Data are dating from almost 40 years ago, from 1977 to the end of 2015 and includes 214,000 offshore legal subjects. This is the biggest financial scandal in recent years, which is called “Panama Documents” or “Panama Papers”.

It is a global research enterprise of several hundred journalists aimed at exposing the hidden world of bank accounts in the countries that enjoy tax benefits or where the tax liability is very easy to avoid.

Using the information and documents that were handed over to investigators by unnamed “whistleblowers”, they came to the names of individuals and companies, which used their secret bank accounts to conduct organized crime and other illegal activities.

Among the names that have been previously published and which appear in the affair of Panama Papers are Hollywood actor Jackie Chan, football player Lionel Messi, Prime Minister of Iceland Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson, close friend and associate of Vladimir Putin etc.

Documents that leaked in the public started the investigation by police and tax authorities, as well as control of some of the world’s largest banks, including HSBC, UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and others that are known to work with Mossack Fonseca, the company through which all actions took place.
