milkos2Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and the Office of Veterinary received a report on the results of the control conducted by the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety of EU in BiH from 14th to 25th of March 2016 in order to assess the system of production and control of milk products intended for export to the European Union, with a positive assessment.

The official report stated that facilities for the production of milk generally meet EU standards. Also, control showed that the system of official controls showed that facilities for export meet the relevant EU requirements and that the staff responsible for official controls is adequately trained and competent for the application of EU standards.

The report also demonstrated shortcomings in the system of official controls, in particular failure to submit information on time to the competent authority by the competent authorities of other levels of the chain of command, as well as deficiencies in the system of animal identification.

These failings are given to the competent authorities in BiH in the form of recommendations in order to be eliminated as soon as possible.
