referendumCommission for the Conduction of the Referendum in RS on the 9th of January as the Day of RS, determined the central voting list for the RS, according to which 1,219,399 citizens of that entity will have the right to vote.

After the fifth session of the Commission, the President Sinisa Karan said that these data were provided by all competent institutions of the RS, which keep records on the identification data of citizens, such as MIA RS.

“This is an incredible project in such a short amount of time. We are very proud for this, but it was only possible by working day and night, not only this one but also local commissions and all relevant institutions of the RS,” said Karan.

He stated that these are accurate information, and claimed that they found “some flaws” on the electoral list of the Central Election Commission.

“On the basis of this central voting list for the RS, the Commission determined the exact number of electoral body of 1,219,399 citizens of the RS, who will be able to vote on the referendum on the Day of RS,” said Karan.

He confirmed that printing of ballots with the question on whether citizens want the 9th of January to be celebrated as the Day of RS already started.

“From today, we can say that the entire voting material has been completed and sent on printing, considering that the “Official Gazette of RS” recently signed a contract with the Government of RS and the printing of this material is in advanced stage,” he said.

Karan added that they still believe that the CEC had no grounds to refuse the request for the central voting list for the purposes of the referendum in the RS and announced that he will file an appeal to the Court of BiH against a refusal decision of the Appellate Panel of the Court of BiH.

He emphasized that the municipal and city commissions have done their part of the job, and determined polling stations and technical preparations for the referendum, which will be carried out in the offices of the RS in the world as well.

He reiterated that only the National Assembly of RS can postpone the referendum, which is scheduled for the 25th of September.
