OHR: Important Challenges Lie Ahead

OHRA spokeswoman for the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ljiljana Radetić said yesterday in a statement to FENA that the formation of governments at all levels is a matter of utmost urgency.

“It is important so that the significant challenges that BiH faces and that are of the utmost concern for the citizens could finally be solved. One of the biggest tasks is adoption of the budget so that the needs of citizens would not be affected. This is what citizens expect.”- stated the OHR.

Earlier, a spokesman for the EU Delegation and the EU Special Representative to BiH Andy McGuffie also told FENA and it was necessary primarily to quickly create a stable government at all levels, which is a prerequisite for the adoption of credible budgets.

The BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury last week submitted the draft budget of BiH institutions and international obligations for 2015 to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers for adoption procedure.

The ministry told FENA that if the budget is not adopted by the end of the year the Council of Ministers may adopt a decision on the quarterly interim financing so as not to endanger the financing of institutions and foreign debt servicing.
