The accused Ranko Petrovic, born in 1990 in Tuzla, in the presence of his defence counsel, fully admitted guilt for the criminal offence of assault on an official in the performance of security duties, detection or deprivation of freedom of the perpetrator of the criminal offence under Article 241b (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which he is charged in the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH dated 25 September 2020.

Pursuant to the agreement, a suspended one-year prison sentence was proposed for the accused, which will not be executed if the accused does not commit the criminal offence again within two years.

The accused admitted that during March 2019, through his posts on the Internet portal, he made serious threats to Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić, who represents and manages the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and is under 24-hour police protection, calling for an assault and shooting on the Chief Prosecutor, which caused serious fear and anxiety, as well as public anxiety.

When entering the guilty plea agreement, the accused also apologised for the offence and expressed his remorse.

Pursuant to the agreement, the funds used for the commission of the criminal offence, including computer equipment, will be confiscated from the accused.

After consideration, the Court of BiH accepted the said agreement.
