On Wednesday, in the movie hall Borak in Široki Brijeg, the 15th edition of the MFF (Mediteran Film Festival) started, with screenings of the films by local authors; “Znatiželja / Curiosity” by Stjepan Skoko and “Bolnica Inkognito/Hospital Incognito” by Zdenko Jurilj.
The President of the Government of the West Herzegovina Canton, Zdenko Čosić opened solemnly the festival while Stipe Prlić, president of the HT Eronet Administration Service (general sponsor of the festival), director of the festival Tomislav Topić and producer of the festival Robert Bubalo spoke to the public at the ceremony.
The film to open officially the festival is the music documentary dedicated to the famous band Bijelo Dugme, entitled “Izgubljeno dugme / The lost button” directed by Mario Vukadin, Renato Tonković and Robert Bubalo.
On the first night of the MFF the French film “Happiness…promised land” was screened and it opened at the same time the competition part where this year there will be 22 documentary films, 11 short films and 11 feature films.
The best films will be selected by the international jury made out of 6 members who will choose the winner and assign to him the Grand prix – MFF projector in the category of the feature film and the MFF projector in the category of the short film while the third award is traditionally assigned by the audience.
In total, during this year’s MFF, 32 films will be screened.
