Opposition parties in Republika Srpska have announced new protests in Banja Luka, dissatisfied, among other things, with the work and reporting of the public service Radio-Television of Republika Srpska (RTRS).
“Come to the protest because we must defend freedom,” it is stated in the message, which the opposition in Republika Srpska sent to citizens ahead of their third post-election protests.
The opposition leaders spoke at a press conference about the reasons for the protests that will take place on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in front of the Republika Srpska Radio and Television building.
The vice-president of PDP and the candidate of the opposition for the president of the Republika Srpska Jelena Trivić said that the protests will not stop and that there are 1,000 reasons for the protests.
“Our request is an appeal to the CEC and the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also requests from previous gatherings. The work of the judiciary and the prosecution of those who participated in election theft. There are many pieces of evidence, but there is not a single epilogue. We will not stop there. Whatever decision the Appellate Division makes, I am sure that there will not be only promises that are not fulfilled,” Trivić pointed out.
Trivić also referred to the influence of ruling structures on the work of RTRS. She said that there is still a request to RTRS for objective reporting and to stop labeling all people who think differently from the regime.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH) should confirm the official results of the General Election tomorrow unless the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina makes a different decision compared to the one made by the CEC in connection with the appeals related to the repeat elections for the level of president and vice president of Republika Srpska.
