osmanovicThe Academic Council of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH on yesterday’s session unanimously adopted a modified proposal for the rules governing the way of formation of drug prices on the local market, as stated by Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Adil Osmanovic. In the next ten days, the Council of Ministers of BiH should state their opinion regarding these regulations.

“We were able to adopt rules with this consensus and it still goes into the procedure according to the Council of Ministers of BiH. Thus, it goes on the opinion of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury and the Office for Legislation. I expect that the Council of Ministers of BiH will be in the capacity to adopt regulations in the next ten days,” said Osmanovic.

He emphasized that BiH so far had not had this ordinance and that it is the advantage – after the adoption, we will regularly be able to follow analysis of drug prices in BH market.

Osmanovic does not expect blockage in the Council of Ministers of BiH with regard to the fact that it comes to the regulations from which will benefit all citizens of BiH.

“We have had several meetings with the World Bank, which insists on these regulations so that I believe that the Council of Ministers of BiH will unanimously adopt this regulation. I do not see that there should be any blockade,” said Osmanovic.

To recall, the citizens of BiH – due to the lack of regulations on how to control drugs, pay much more than the citizens of the region and Europe.

Because of this, the prices of drugs in BiH are determined and dictated by the pharmaceutical industry and the competitiveness of the market is only corrective factor.
