At the suggestion of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Canton Sarajevo (CS), the Government of CS passed a conclusion allowing an organized New Year’s Eve celebration indoors in catering facilities, while respecting hygienic and epidemiological measures.

All facility guests will be required to have one of the VPT(vaccinated/recovered/tested) certificates. These are a certificate of vaccination, a negative antigen or PCR test that is not older than 48 hours, or a certificate of a history of COVID-19 infection in the last six months.

”The obligatory measures will include a distance between the guests, one person per seven square meters, ” it was stated in the conclusion of the Government of CS.

“The organizer will be responsible for the implementation of these measures. Otherwise, it will be considered that the organizer violates the measures of the competent authorities and will act in accordance with Article 71a of the Law on CS Inspections, “ it was noted in a statement published by the Press and Protocol Service of CS.

One of the mentioned VPT certificates is also obligatory for persons who use accommodation services for a short stay in the CS.

It has been determined that it is not necessary to have one of the VPT certificates at the Bjelasnica and Igman ski resorts, but the monitoring of respecting the recommendations/ hygienic-epidemiological measures of the Crisis Staff of the CS Ministry of Health will be intensified at these sites.

“If the inspection determines the recurrence of their violation at the ski resorts, the application of VPT certificates will be introduced,” the conclusion warns.

Control over the implementation of all these measures will be performed by the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the CS.

The Government’s conclusion also determined that the Public Health Institute of CS, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of CS, will conduct screening testing for COVID-19 for students and teaching staff, until December 31st, 2021. Parental consent is required for testing children under 18 years of age.
