Šefket Hafizović, vice president of the Organizing Committee for commemorating the 28th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, told Dnevnik 2 that everything is ready for the 23rd funeral.
“Starting today, we will conclude the list of statesmen who will be addressed by video link,” he pointed out.
Unfortunately, 28 years later, the families of the surviving victims are still searching for their loved ones, reminded Hafizović: “We still do not receive information about the graves that our neighbors probably know where they are, and here is an opportunity to call them once again to give them to the competent institutions, how victims of genocide would find peace”.
Hafizović also commented on the statement of the mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujičić – that even after 28 years, peace has not returned to Srebrenica, and that Srebrenica’s mothers are the engine of hatred among people: “Apart from being a shameful statement, I must say that Mladen Grujičić is a completely wrong person in the wrong place. If there was international law and justice, someone from the people in whose name the police and army committed genocide against Bosniaks would never, in fact, have come to the head of this city. After that statement by the mayor – someone who is in charge of the city where the genocide was committed – the initiative from 2007 on separation from the administrative-territorial organization of the RS had its full meaning”.
This is now on the face and conscience of those for whom the Dayton Agreement is a project, Hafizović said at the end and pointed out that they must take responsibility because it is now clear that the international order and international law have not been functioning on the basis of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights for resolutions on preventing and punishing genocide.
“When it comes to Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has been operating on those bases since the signing of the Dayton Agreement, which is a monster of the Constitution,” concluded Hafizović.
