12746537_1106541726063449_989973065_nThe film “Death in Sarajevo” by the BiH Academy Award winner Danis Tanović was premiered within the competition program of the 66th film festival Berlinale, which lasts from February 11 to 21, 2016. The team of the film received ovations by the press and the audience. Indubitably, Tanović did a great job again.

Premiere of the film was held at 4 p.m., while as press conference at which the director Tanović and actors addressed the media was organized shortly before.

The film is set in a Sarajevo hotel where a dinner is being prepared for marking the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War. The film was made following the motives of a drama script by the French philosopher Bernard Henry Levy “Hotel Europa”. The main role is played by the French actor Jacques Weber.

“Bernard Henry Levy has been a great friend of BiH, especially during the toughest times, and that is why I respect his work so much. I spent several months with him, following him while he was working on a script for a film. I simply did not want to miss my chance and, when you have an actor such as Jacques at your disposal, you are in a great advantage,” Tanović said.

The film stars BiH actors Izudin Bajrović, Snežana Vidović, Vedrana Seksan, Muhamed Hadžović, Faketa Salihbegović-Avdagić, Aleksandar Seksan, Boris Lero, Rijad Gvozden, Amar Selimović, Luna Zimić-Mijović, Milan Pavlović and others.
