Over 78 Percent less Tourist Arrivals to Bosnia and Herzegovina

In July 2020, there were 47,454 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent the increase by 78.8% as compared to June 2020 and a decrease by 75.5% as compared to July 2019.

Tourists made 134,587 overnight stays which represent the increase by 144.5% as compared to June 2020 and a decrease by 68.3% as compared to July 2019. Domestic tourist’s share of the total number of overnight stays was 83.1% and foreign tourists share was 16.9%.

Concerning the structure of foreign tourist overnight stays in July 2020, most of them (69.1%) realize by tourists from: Serbia with (44.4%), Croatia (12.8%), Germany and Saudi Arabia by (4.5%) and Sweden (2.9%). Tourists from other countries realized 30.9% of tourist overnight stays.

Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays in our country on the first place comes Iran with an average stay by 14.0 nights, Brazil 13.5 nights, Hungary 11.1 nights, Ukraine 4.8 nights and Australia 4.7 nights.

Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in July 2020 amounted to 16,978 which is 18.5% decrease compared to July 2019. The number of available beds was 33.109 beds, which is decreased by 19.4%, compared to the same month of 2019.

In July 2020, in the activity – hotels and similar accommodation, the number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 15.404, which is a decrease of 15.1% compared to July 2019., and the number of available beds amounted to 31.263 which is a decrease of 16.0%, compared to the same month of the previous year.

The net occupancy rate of permanent beds in July 2020 was 12.4%.

According to the type of accommodation facility the highest number of nights was recorded in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.4%.
