Parliamentarians and Young BiH Citizens to Discuss European and BiH Perspectives on Education and Employment

mladi_studenti_100512Young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina face difficult choices when it comes to education and employment – and as the country moves along the path of European Union integration, these choices should include new opportunities, announced the EU Delegation to B&H. Typically, students have to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of studying at home or abroad, while many jobseekers vote with their feet and conclude that they will have better opportunities if they leave the country.

A public discussion between parliamentarians and young people organised by the AIESEC (International student organisation) will take place in Banja Luka on 30 September. The theme will be: My European perspective – possibilities for young people to continue their studies in BiH and in the EU. The objective is to explore relevant issues and offer perspectives on studying at home or studying abroad. Legislators will be asked to explain what they are doing and can do in the future to give young BiH citizens the best possible options in education and employment.

The discussion, which will be chaired by Sara Pepić of the AIESEC, is envisaged as a lively exchange of information and opinion. Participants will be welcomed by Gulio Zanni, Head of the Banja Luka Office of the European Union Delegation to BiH, and participating parliamentarians will be Radmila Kocić and Branislav Borenović of the RSNA.

The opening of the debate will take place in Hotel Bosna starting at 13:00.
