OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAToday, The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly, in emergency procedure, adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Public Procurement.

The Council of Ministers has determined the proposal of this law to be aligned with international standards.

The role of the Financial Intelligence Department (FID) as the central unit was defined by this law. Moreover, this Department will receive, analyze and forward the information, data and documents on suspicious transactions related to money laundering and financing of terrorist activities.

It is expected that the negative labeling of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorist activities will be made by the adoption of this law.

It is concluded that the amendments will provide more severe punishments for crimes of human trafficking. In addition, the organized international trafficking was labeled as a specific criminal offense.
