Due to the overflowing of the river Una from its bed, the entrances which lead to Štrbački buk, are closed to visitors, the UNA National Park announced.

“The heavy rains of the past few days, and especially during today, have raised the water level of Una and Unac and the rivers have overflowed. Heavy rains also cause flash floods, and large amounts of water flow from the surrounding hills into water courses and lower areas, as well as over roads. The mentioned entrances are closed until further notice,” the National Park states.

“In the town of Donji Petrovići, in the area of the municipality of Krupa na Uni, the river Vojskova spilled out of its bed onto the regional road Dubovik – Petrovići – Bušević,” said mayor Mladen Kljajić.

Kljajić said that traffic on this road is difficult. He says that in Hasani, the Slanac stream flooded the bridge and the agricultural land of three households.

In the settlement of Alagić, the Bliha field overflowed its banks and endangered several residential buildings, reports RTV “Sana” Sanski Most.

The water level of the Sana in Novi Grad has reached a level of 320 centimeters, at which regular flood defense measures are introduced, and tonight the pumps on that river are turned on.

The water level of the Una River was 250 centimeters around 5:00 p.m., and regular flood measures are in effect at a water level of 450 centimeters.

The head of the municipality of Novi Grad, Miroslav Drljača, told Srna news agency that the Civil Protection Service is on duty. He said that stormwater flooded houses in Oslobođenja Street and one house in Roga settlement.

Drljača stated that the blocked culvert creates a problem in the Svodna settlement.

The rivers Japra and Vojskova came out of their beds and flooded agricultural land, and because of the water on the road, traffic in the valleys of these rivers was difficult.

Traffic is also difficult on the main road Novi Grad – Prijedor, and in the town of Petkovac, due to water and silt on the road, traffic is moving in one lane.

Traffic is also difficult on the main road Novi Grad – Kostajnica, at the exit from Novi Grad, where there is water on the road.
