Peaceful Protests of Employees of Failed Companies In Front of Cantonal Court in Tuzla

tuzla-radniciEmployees of former giant companies of Tuzla Canton gathered today in front of the building of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla.

Companies are not producing anymore and employees of “Dita”, “Guming”, “Polihem”, “Poliolchem” and “Konjuh” did not receive salaries for many months and they do not have health insurance. Employees of companies “Tuzlaputevi”, “Tuzla Kvarc” and “Livnica Čelika” are in the same situation, who decided to join the gathering today.

“We were calm for three years. Over the past few days, what happened is over. Now we need to calmly operate. Dita has never vandalized. We were in tents for one year and a half. The government of Tuzla Canton together with the Prime Minister Čaušević did not want to hear us. They did not solve our problems. The Cantonal Union also did not listen to our requests. They never wondered what is going on with Dita employees. We have to start thinking more positively after the meeting with the Assembly President of Tuzla Canton. The voice of the people must be heard”, said the President of “Dita” strike’s committee Hrustan Muminović.

“Polihema ” union member Enes Tanović said that if the situation in the company does not change in the next few months, employees are ready to undertake more radical measures.

“Yesterday, we spoke to the Assembly of Tuzla Canton and clearly expressed our objectives and if in a month it does not get better then it can just be worse. Did they need 20 years to understand that people need health insurance and pension? Our right to pension should be regulated. We do not care where they will get the money. That is not our problem. We did not tell to them that everything must be done tomorrow, now health and pension insurance should be taken care of and later all the rest”, said Tanović.

After a peaceful gathering in front of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla, employees headed to the destroyed building of the government of Tuzla Canton.
