The Ambassador of Italy to BiH Nicola Minasi invited young people between 6 and 25 years of age to apply for a photo competition “MojaBiH (MyBiH)” by May 1, in order to share what best represents BiH in their eyes through one click of the camera.
“In this way, we want young people to think and represent BiH to the rest of the world, which was suggested by the Strategy for the Western Balkans,” stated Ambassador Minasi at a press conference that was held in the Embassy. A promotional video was presented as well, and some of the greatest BH artists including Damir Niksic, Zenit Djozic and director of the National Theater in Sarajevo Marijela Hasimbegovic participated in its making.
BH photographer Almin Zrno will be in the expert jury that will decide on the winners in three categories: participants – individuals between 6 and 12 years of age, 13 to 18 years, and participants from 19 to 25 years of age.
The fourth category will be individual classes or groups of classes of the same school institution, and the winner in this category will be selected on the basis of the largest number of likes on the official Facebook page of the Embassy of Italy in BiH.
Photographs can show a monument, landscape, food, image, drawing or any other type of artwork, and applicants should send them to the following email: [email protected].
This photo contest is one of a series of initiatives held within the Month of Italian Photography in BiH, which are supported by UNICEF and OSCE missions in BiH.
“One of the reasons for this is that this photo contest allows children to express themselves in a creative way, which is one of the basic rights of children according to the UN Convention. We often forget about it, as well as that children should participate in different aspects of society,” said the representative of UNICEF in BiH, Geeta Narayan.
