government-fbihTaking into account the increasing trend of concentration of polluting substances in the area of CS in the winter, especially the presence of particulate matter (PM10), in order for more effective implementation, the Government of CS , at the proposal of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, adopted the plan in cases of excessive air pollution in Canton Sarajevo. At the same time, they took care that the plan is enforceable.

Compared to the old plan, changes to the measures took place in the episode of preparedness, and they introduced the measure that all legal entities, depending on their capabilities, can make a shift in the start of working hours, in order to unburden the capacity of public transportation and roads. At the suggestion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of CS, the measure that implies the exclusion from the traffic of cars whose engines have a standard less than Euro 3 was changed, and a new measure was introduced that envisages excluding the motor vehicles of petrol engines that have a standard less than Euro1 and diesel engines with standard less than Euro3. The reason for this is much higher emissions from motor vehicles with diesel engines.

Measures for all-day traffic ban of traffic for commercial vehicles with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 3.5 tons was measured according to the situation on the section Bascarsija – Ilidza in both directions. Measure of warning for all plants that are producing thermal energy power over 50kW using solid fuel and heating oil was introduced, as well as reducing the temperature in rooms that are heated to a minimum of 2 degrees.

The measure on limitations for the plant for the production of thermal energy using solid fuel and heating oil was changed with enhanced inspection in terms of control of subjects with respect to implementation of the plan of measures and ban of the heavy construction works both outdoors and indoors.
