PM Novalic announced that Procurement of Vaccines is certain 20 Days ago, but no Contracts have been signed yet

Fadil Novalic, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) said at the session of the House of Peoples of this entity, which was held about 20 days ago, that he would soon procure vaccines against coronavirus, but the contracts, as it seems, have not been signed yet.

While addressing the delegates back then, he noted that the Government is trying to get vaccines through as many as four channels and that the safest option was to buy Chinese Sinopharm. At the time, he said, the entity was “on the fifth step out of six” when it comes to the process of procuring the vaccine.

“The fourth channel would be the Chinese Sinopharm. Out of six steps, we are on the fifth. We have already chosen a wholesaler and that is Hercegovinalijek. That is 500.000 doses,” Prime Minister Novalic stated on April 20th during the FBiH Parliament session.

He pointed out that the option from India is the fastest and that the only step left is to sign the procurement contract.

FBiH has not yet procured any vaccines, although Novalic told that in addition to this channel if it doesn’t work, there are two other very specific ways of procurement. The first one is the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, which would be procured together with the Canton Sarajevo (CS), while the second is AstraZeneca, for which they have already received approval from the British Government.

Apart from FBiH, the state level is also trying to procure vaccines, more precisely the entities with the help of the state Ministry of Civil Affairs. Negotiations to procure 720.000 doses of Pfizer are reportedly near completion, Klix.ba writes.
