PM Novalic discussed New Projects with the Delegation of China

meeting NovalicPrime Minister of the FBiH, Fadil Novalic and his associates, received the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of China led by Ambassador Chen Bo at the headquarters of the Government of FBiH in Sarajevo. They particularly discussed the construction of Block 7 of the TPP Tuzla.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry of FBiH, Nermin Dzinic.

Economic topics were in the focus of these discussions, with particular emphasis on the electric power sector, in which China and its companies have significant ambitions when it comes to BH market.

They emphasized important projects such as the construction of Block 7 of Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Tuzla, with a capacity of 450 megawatts and Thermal Power Plant Tuzla, with a capacity of 350 megawatts, and the need to accelerate their implementation.

Ambassador of China emphasized that they are having final negotiations and consultations on signing the contract on the construction of Block 7 and that things are moving in the right direction. For the 10th of September is announced the visit of the delegation of the Chinese government’s Exim Bank to Elektroprivreda BiH, when should be made the final decision on the loan for the construction of this important energy facility. Bo expressed hope and confidence that the agreement will be signed by the end of this year.

It was concluded that contacts between the two sides should be continued and accelerated the preparation of the entire project for the realization of this significant investment in the energy sector of BiH. They also talked about specific projects and grants from the Chinese side in goods and services through cooperation with local communities.
