
Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalic talked today in Sarajevo with members of the World Bank delegation, led by the Regional Director for the Western Balkans Linda Van Gelder.
Thanking for the very extensive cooperation so far, Prime Minister Novalic told the guests that, although the pandemic period is still ongoing, in the economic sense, the Federation of BiH is recording good results.
Director Van Gelder expressed satisfaction with the way in which the Federation of BiH spends funds intended for recovery from the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, and that the economic recovery has been faster than anticipated.
She also said that the Government of the Federation of BiH can still count on the support of the World Bank.
In that context, the projects of this bank were also discussed today, one of which is the continuation of employment support, about which the talks at the technical level are well advanced and their finalization is expected soon.
When it comes to the investment project for health reform, it was emphasized that the administrative procedures have been completed.
The World Bank project is also being prepared to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in solving environmental problems, with the improvement of air quality being one of the key issues for the Federation of BiH.
The World Bank delegation also included Xiaoquing Yu, Director for Strategies and Operations for Europe and Central Asia Region, and Christopher Sheldon, Head of the Bank’s Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, stated the FBiH Government’s Public Relations Office.
