PM Vučić on the Possible Referendum in RS: the Price is too high

Vučić on Referendum nap.baThe Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said that he no longer fears the implementation of the economic reforms, but the regional instability and political conflicts, and that he is very afraid of the situation in B&H.

“I am very afraid of the situation in B&H. You saw that I asked our friend Milorad Dodik to once again reconsider his decision on referendum. Although I understand his arguments, the price is too high”, Vučić stressed.

Vučić said for “Politika” that his relationship with the President of the RS Milorad Dodik is ‘’correct’’, and when asked does he have any influence on him, he answered that he is not speaking of the influence.

“He has influence on me, too”, said Vučić.

Stating that he is for true regional stability and substantial reconciliation, Vučić emphasized that he fears that some people from the outside wanted unfavorable political-legal consequences for the Serbs and Serbia, and when that failed, they are showing significantly less interest in the process of reconciliation itself.

He stated that he hasn’t got in touch with the Bosniak member of the B&H Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic since the attack in Srebrenica, but that he will contact him on Monday to make an agreement regarding the agenda of his visit to Serbia.

“The reason why I did not get in contact with him is his explanation that he had not seen me, that he was not an organizer there”, Vučić said, and confirmed that Izetbegović personally granted him safety prior to arrival.

Vučić stated that he is waiting for the results of the authorities of BH entities RS and FB&H, and added that for days he has been troubled by the question in whose interest was it to re-ignite the region again.

“After the British resolution that was not adopted, in the great part of the world, not just in the region, even the desire to talk about true reconciliation disappeared, and some perceived reconciliation in the final Serb defeat”, Vučić emphasized.
