The highest level of security checks has been raised in the Zenica area due to threats sent from an unknown email address, confirmed to Fena by Lejla Ekinović, spokesperson for the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

“We received the email this morning, and certain threats were sent to the police, schools and public institutions in the Zenica area. The level of security checks has been raised to the highest level,” said Ekinović.

As she stated, all other relevant security agencies are involved in discovering the source of the threats.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton has sent an urgent notification to all primary and secondary schools in the area of that city.

Schools are ordered to temporarily suspend the regular educational process and organize distance learning.

“Due to the objective circumstances, acting in the best interest of students and safety in educational institutions, you must stop the regular educational process, inform the parents and organize the educational process through distance learning on Friday, April 17, 2026, in a way that takes into account the needs and possibilities of the students and the school,” says the letter signed by the responsible minister Mirza Mushija.
