Police still in front of the Republika Srpska Government Building

After SIPA officers attempted to arrest RS President Milorad Dodik in front of the RS Government Administrative Center in East Sarajevo last night, the situation there is calmer this morning.

However, police officers from the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs are still on the scene.

It is still unknown whether Dodik is in the building or whether he left during the night.

Let us recall that he came to the RS Government Administrative Center yesterday, where he held a meeting with the mayors of municipalities in the East Sarajevo area and Mayor Ljubiša Ćosić.

As was the case last night, and this morning, members of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs are not allowing the media to approach the building.

Let us recall that upon learning that a meeting was being held at the RS Government Administrative Center in East Sarajevo, which Dodik was also attending, three SIPA inspectors arrived at the gate of this building yesterday. This is the first “attempt” to bring Dodik in for questioning since the arrest warrant was issued.

Dodik was protected last night by members of the East Sarajevo Police Department, members of the Gendarmerie of the RS Ministry of Interior and the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ). All of them, armed, stood in front of SIPA inspectors and did not allow them to enter the building.

By preventing SIPA members from arresting Dodik, for whom the Court of BiH has issued a central arrest warrant, members of the RS Ministry of Interior are participating in preventing the BiH judicial authorities from reaching the suspects for criminal offenses.

As a reminder, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina previously issued a central arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, as well as for the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and the President of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandić.
