Pope Francis decides: Vatican takes over Medjugorje!

13608293_1791246511112025_1002758003_nPope Francis will soon appoint a special administrator (manager) of the Holy See in Medjugorje. This unofficial information is not verified yet, but it is assumed that the Vatican will take over the management of Medjugorje in the next few months.

From the side view, management of the Vatican over Medjugorje should be a win-win situation for all parties, and no one should feel some big loss.

For example, Herzegovinian monks will lose part of their independency in decision-making, but a huge burden in the relationship with the local bishops will fall of their back because the Vatican will take all responsibility and, with Medjugorje under its direct jurisdiction, Medjugorje will become “extraterritorial” in the local framework, after 35 years of burdening relationship of local bishops towards the phenomenon of Medjugorje.

On the other hand, Mostar-Duvno and Trebinje-Mrkanj Bishop Ratko Peric can be satisfied as well, because the authority of the Vatican will be a guarantee that there will be no deviations of any kind.

It is also believed that the desire to put Medjugorje under direct administration of the Holy See is a response to numerous pressures and actions of local Bishop Ratko Peric over the years, although there is a theory that the popularity of Medjugorje bothered large sanctuaries Lourdes and Fatima, but they also lobbied hard to put Medjugorje under the Vatican administration, according to Večernji.hr.
