12935196_1146615775389377_383411566_nAccording to the plan by the businessman Rodoljub Drašković, at this time next year Trebinje should get an airport in Zupci. The workers have already started clearing the terrain for the construction of an airport at the locality of Dubrave.

Construction of an airport was primarily envisaged within the project “The City of Sun”. However, as Drašković explained recently, after consulting with expert from Belgrade, he decided to move the location to Zupci due to unsuitable terrain for construction in Dubrave.

Drašković has already provided the funds for this investment from the profit generated last year, thus he does not intend to make this airport a combination of private and public ownership.

“I will build this airport in a year. Next year, if nothing else, my plane will land on that runway,” Drašković is convinced.

As the company “Swisslion” announced, in addition to a runway with the length of 1.800 meters, the airport will also have all necessary technical contents: control tower, aprons for stationing aircraft, administration building, meteorological service, hangar of sports and general aviation, and access roads.

As a reminder, at the last session the Assembly of the City of Trebinje reached a decision on selling 200.000 square meters of construction land at the locality Dubrave-Zupci to the owner of the concern “Swisslion” Rodoljub Drašković, for the purpose of the construction of an airport.

Although the delegates from SNSD, DNS and the only delegate from NDP left the assembly hall at the very beginning of the session, the decision on selling the land was still reached and local opposition announced that they will try to annul everything that was decided on that session.
