Considering the decreasing trends in the concentration of polluting PM10 particles in the air, as well as the forecasted weather conditions, the Expert Body for Coordination and Supervision of the Implementation of the Plan of Intervention Measures in Cases of Excessive Air Pollution, canceled the “Preparedness” episode in the area of Sarajevo Canton.
A slower decrease in the concentration of this pollutant is recorded at the measuring points of Ilijaš and Vogošća, but given the current weather conditions, the improvement of air quality will continue in this area as well.
According to the synoptic forecast of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, in the next three days in the area of Sarajevo Canton, occasional precipitation and wind of varying strength are expected, which will favor maintaining a favorable situation. Occasionally, weaker temperature inversions are expected, which can lead to oscillations in PM10 concentrations, with increasing values, mainly in the evening hours.
We remind you that the state of air quality for the Sarajevo Canton area is monitored via the website of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute The published data is collected from reference measuring stations managed by experts of the Institute for CS public health and represent the most reliable and relevant source of data on air quality.
