President of EBRD expects positive Response to BiH Application

bakirChairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović hosted the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Sir Suma Chakrabarti.

Chairman Izetbegović informed Chakrabarti about the progress of BiH in reform processes on the path towards EU and NATO, emphasizing how BiH meets the conditions of EU and that in September it expects a positive response to the submitted application.

Also emphasized was the commitment of BiH authorities to the implementation of reforms, economic and social, which are aimed at stabilizing and modernizing economy, improving economic development, encouraging the opening of new workplaces and contributing to the creation of more favorable and fair social environment, stated the Presidency of BiH.

President o EBRD Chakrabarti informed the host about activities implemented by the EBRD in BiH and the region, as well as about plans for the future. Importance of EBRD for the development of this region was stressed out and Chakrabarti announced further support and investments of EBRD in implementation of different projects. Special attention in BiH will be paid to the continuation of construction of the Corridor 5C, and to the support for small and medium enterprises.

Chakrabarti also acknowledged the efforts of BiH authorities and greeted the achieved progress in implementation of measures from the Reform Agenda. he gave full support to the continuation of these processes.

Chairman Izetbegović took advantage of the opportunity to thank Chakrabarti for previous help and strong engagement of EBRD in BiH, and expressed expectation that good cooperation will continue in the future as well.
