Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, Milorad Dodik, President of the Republika Srpska, in the presence of the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Porifirije, agreed to organize the “Easter Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Republika Srpska”.
In a statement from Vučić’s cabinet, it is stated that the event will be held on May 5 and 6 in Belgrade and other parts of Serbia.
“At that Parliament, important decisions will be made about the survival of the Serbian people in their hearths, their economic progress, the preservation of the Serbian language and the Cyrillic alphabet and common cultural heritage,” according to a statement from Vučić’s cabinet.
It is added that the new Government of Serbia and the Government of the Republika Srpska will prepare a declaration and possibly other general legal acts that will be submitted in the same text for adoption by the National Assemblies of Serbia and RS. It is stated that Vučić and Dodik informed Patriarch Porifirije “of the gravity of the political situation in which the entire Serbian people find themselves” and that they requested the patriarch’s blessing and the support of the SPC.
In a statement from the office of the President of Serbia, it is added that the public will be informed about other details in the coming period.
Previously, Vučić announced on his Instagram account that he met with Dodik and Porifirije.
“One of the most significant meetings with His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
