Kate Middleton addressed fans at the recent traditional concert “Together at Christmas Carol Service” in Westminster Abbey.

When asked about her health by pop star and Together at Christmas performer Paloma Faith, Kate said shed light on her challenging year.

“Last year at this time, I had no idea how difficult the year ahead of me would be. So much was unplanned…However, I believe that many other people were also going through difficult periods, including many who are here,” she said.

“The unplanned,” Faith remarked.

“Exactly, the unplanned,” the Princess of Wales echoed with a nod, adding, “I think many people have faced such challenging times this year.”

The Princess of Wales selected love and empathy as the central themes for her carol service, held later in a year she described as “incredibly tough.” In March, she revealed she was undergoing cancer treatment. Her husband, Prince William, also called it a “brutal” year, saying in November it was “probably the hardest year of my life” as both his wife and father, King Charles, dealt with cancer diagnoses.

She shone at the event in Westminster Abbey in a red outfit with an effective accessory.

She appeared in a long coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen (the designer of her wedding dress) with a large black bow on the collar.
She completed the look with a red plaid skirt, her Mulberry Amberley baroque pearl earrings and a gold-plated bracelet from the British brand Halcyon Days, and black Ralph Lauren high-heeled boots.
