zdrava_hrana_982164664In the ethno-village Stanišići near Bijeljina, the fourth seminar dedicated to food safety began yesterday, which is being realized in the framework of cross-border cooperation called ‘Region of Food Safety’ from IPA funds.

The seminar gathered around 15 participants, representatives of processing capacities and food distributors from the area of the Bijeljina Chamber of Commerce.

Professor at the Faculty of Technology in East Sarajevo Radoslav Grujić said that the objective of this seminar is to increase the competitiveness of food producers and processors in the local and global market.

According to him, it is necessary to maintain and secure a better position in the market, which would require that processors and producers follow and reach international standards that enhance every four years.

The general objectives of the project are to strengthen competitiveness of small and medium businesses in B&H and Serbia, the protection of consumer health and the exchange of best practices among producers and marketers of food.

Under this project, worth 82.000 BAM, it is planned to hold one more seminar for exporters of food projects.
