In the coal mines of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) 7.138.385 tonnes of coal were produced in 2017, which is an increase of 9.24 percent, or 603.539 tonnes, compared to 2016.

According to the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, in the last three years, production is in a constant growth. This production is certainly a consequence of investing in mines (Public Utility “Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo” and personal funds of mines).

The planned production of coal in the mines for 2018 is 7.891.000 tonnes, and is higher than achieved one in 2017 by about 753.000 tonnes.

At the end of 2017, there were 10.915 employed workers in the coal mines of the FBiH, which is 224 workers less than in 2016.

In 2017, 65.5 million BAM was invested in seven subsidiaries – coal mines. Agreed investments in 2017 amounted to 39.74 million BAM. Through decisions on the recapitalization of seven subsidiary companies – coal mines, an investment in the amount of 581.1 million BAM was planned.

From 2010 to 2017, a total of 283.4 million BAM was agreed, while 264.2 million BAM was realized (paid).
